This year sixth grade is a rather large class.  We are looking forward to having this year's class work hard and make great gains in testing.  We will be looking at several concepts this first semester in math.  Our first four chapters deal with whole number applications, operation sense, decimal concepts, and decimal operations.  These concepts include problem solving practice and strategies such as finding patterns, making graphs, logical reasoning etc.
In reading we will be looking at narrative elements, dialogue, vocabulary, making judgments etc.  The genres will include realistic fiction, autobiographies, short stories, poetry etc.
